Our client, a premier Texas law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support its highly respected Real Estate & Public Finance practice in San Antonio.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside attorneys representing developers, financial institutions, municipalities, governmental entities, and corporate clients on sophisticated commercial real estate and public finance transactions throughout Texas.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys supporting complex transactions, managing multiple priorities, and delivering exceptional client service in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Prepare, revise, proofread, and organize legal documents for commercial real estate and public finance matters.
Assist with escrow instructions, title and survey review, entity formations, UCC searches, due diligence, and closing checklists.
Draft and assemble agreements, closing documents, exhibits, schedules, certificates, affidavits, notices, and bond-related documents.
Coordinate transactions from inception through closing while maintaining organized transaction files.
Assemble bond transcripts and closing documents for submission to the Texas Attorney General's Office.
Prepare legal correspondence, contracts, presentations, and transactional documents.
Enter attorney time, review prebills, process billing revisions, and assist with client billing.
Open new matters, process conflict checks, and maintain client records.
Coordinate payment requests and vendor invoices with accounting.
Manage attorney calendars, meetings, travel, deadlines, and transaction schedules.
Coordinate closings, client meetings, presentations, and business development activities.
Anticipate attorney needs and help keep matters moving efficiently.
Maintain electronic and physical client files.
Organize documents within the firm's document management system (iManage experience preferred).
Ensure accurate filing and record retention throughout each transaction.
Communicate professionally with clients, title companies, lenders, bond counsel, governmental agencies, and vendors.
Build strong working relationships while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional client service.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff in a team-oriented environment.
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
3-5+ years of legal assistant experience supporting Commercial Real Estate attorneys is required.
Experience supporting Public Finance, Municipal Finance, Bond Transactions, or Commercial Finance practices is strongly preferred.
Prior law firm experience required.
Knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and transactional legal documentation.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Word formatting.
Experience with iManage or another legal document management system preferred.
Experience with attorney time entry, billing, and matter management.
Excellent organization, proofreading, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
